Fathima Memorial Training College,
Pallimukku, Kollam is selected for the Dr. N. D. Joshi Memorial Award for
Academic Excellence – 2013. The award will be given to FMTC on 12th January
2013 in the valedictory ceremony of the 11th State Convention
of CTE by Sri. A. Peethambara Kurupu, Member of Parliament of
Kollam constituency.
The award committee appreciated the
positive attitude exhibited by the college family and the management in the
earnest support extended to development of the Teacher Education community by
hosting the 11th State Convention and International Seminar and
Exhibition from 10th to 12th of January 2013 at
the college. The Dr. N. D. Joshi Memorial Award was instituted in 2011-’12
by the Doctoral students of Prof. Dr. Joshi who formerly served as Professor in
Education at Kerala University, Thiruvananthapuram and Mahatma Gandhi
University, Kottayam. Dr. Joshi was an earnest researcher cum activist in
tribal education in Kerala. Last year the award was bagged by Mar Theophilus
Training College, Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram.
The FMTC, Kollam
began in 1997 as a self-financing college affiliated to University
of Kerala. Today it has both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate
courses in Education. Recently the college was assessed and accredited by NAAC with
a prestigious ‘A’ Grade. Former Member of Kerala Legislative Assembly Dr. A.
Yunus Kunju, is the Founder and Director of the college. Mrs. Anitha N., is the
Principal of the college. A team of dedicated teaching faculty and
administrative staff members form the basis for the achievement and glory of
the college.
