Dr. R.
Sukumaran Nair, former Professor and Head of the Department of Education,
Calicut University, is selected for this year’s Academic Excellence award
instituted by CTE Kerala State Centre in commemoration of Dr. K. Sivadasan
Pilllai, the founder chairman of CTE Kerala State Centre. The octogenarian
award winner has more than six decades of teaching and research career
spreading across schools, colleges and Universities. Besides being
Professor at Calicut University he has been instrumental in the forming the
academic infrastructure of Sri Sanakara Sanskrit university at Kalady in its
early years as Professor in its teaching faculty. He is a multi-lingual expert
and an ardent orator, and has published many books and research papers. The
award consist of a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a citation which will be handed
over to the recipient on 11th January
at 10am in the inaugural ceremony of the 11th State Convention of CTE to be
held at Fathima Memorial Training College, Pallimukku, Kollam. The prize money
is sponsored by the research students of Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai.
