Dr. Celine Pereira, Associate Professor, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, is the recipient of the 'Dr. K. Soman Memorial Award for Teacher Educator of the Year - 2012' , for her exemplary services to Teacher Education and Research in Education, as well as her wide ranging academic activities in the field of formal and non-formal education.

'Dr. K. Soman Memorial Award for Teacher Educator of the Year', a tribute to the great Educationist and pioneer of Teaching of Mathematics.' is constituted by the CTE, Kerala State Centre to motivate practising teacher educators to be a model to students and society from 2004 onwards. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 2000/- , Memento and Certificate.

The award will be given to Dr. Celine Pereira, on the 12^th of January 2013, in the valedictory function of the 11^th State Convention of CTE and International Seminar at Fathima Memorial Training College, Kollam.
