The third Pre-phase Meeting
of the International Seminar was convened
on 26thNovember 2016(Saturday)in GCTE at 10 ampresided over
by Dr.C.P.Sreekantan Nair. The meeting commenced with a silent prayer followed
by Welcome Address by the Principal. TheChairman read out the Agenda for the
day’s meeting and subjected the same for approval by members present.

Agenda 1 –Presentation
of the Report of the Meeting held on 28th October 2016
The Co-ordinator of the Seminar Ms.NishaChandran
read out the minutes of the meeting held on 28th October 2016.
Agenda 2- To
equip the Sub committees for the Seminar
Chairperson/Chairman
and Convenors of various committees were read out by the Principal and the
lists were handed over to each group for
finalising the tasks and the date by
which the task has to be completed. As per the general consensus , Documentation
and Reporting have been clubbed together .
Agenda-3
–Updation of Addresses of CTE Members.
Many of the life members of CTE were
either placed elsewhere or had change of address. Hence Principal requested
members present to counter check the list and include changes on addresses of
teachers known to them.
Agenda-4–Finalisation
of the format for theCertificates.
The
list of Awards/Honours instituted by CTE was read out by the Principal. Based
on the general consensus, following changes were made:

The
newly instituted Award instituted by Dr.G.Sarath Chandra Raj has been titled as
the Best Innovative Paper Presenter Award.
·
Dr.T.K.Mathew,
Principal Titus II Teachers’ College announced the decision to constitute a new
award titled Teacher as a Social Engineer. The same when subjected to
discussion, suggestions were put forward to rename the title as the Most Committed Teacher Educator for Extension Work.
·
The
Chairman suggestedthat if possible
Citation can be provided instead of Certificates for all the awardees but it was decided
to continue the existing practise for the time being and if possible, citation can be provided for all
awards from the next Annual Convention onwards.
·
It
was reiterated that Ph. D Awardees to be given memento alone but has to ensure
that all Awardees for the year must register for the Seminar.
·
Dr.Bindu
R.L. remarked that the Cash Awardsand the Certificates for the various Honours would
be provided by the CTE.
Agenda -5 -Any other matter as per the
decision of the Chairman
·
It
was decided to invite Governor to inaugurate the International Seminar and the
Minister for Education to deliver the Keynote Address, if conditions work out
conducively.
·
The
suggestion regarding inviting the following dignitaries –Mr.T.P.Sreenivasan, Dr.D.Babu
Paul, Dr.AlexanderJacob,Dr.AchuthSankar and Mr. Jayakumar IAS (Rtd) based on the sub-themes of the Seminar were
made by Prof.K. Jacob Mathew .

Jacob
Mathew Sir who had taken up the initiative in setting up the brochure, briefed
on the same for the benefit of the gathering.
·
The
inclusion of State Resource Centre as a Collaborating Agency was announced by
the Principal and their willingnessto sponsor lunch for a day was whole
heartedly accepted with applause.
·
Early
Bird Registration amount from those present was invited by the Chairman.
·
The

Reflecting
the spirit of camaraderieamong the CTE members,Principal, Titus II Teachers College
announced that the next Annual Convention of CTE will be hosted by them as part
of their Jubilee Celebrations.
·
The
meeting culminated with a sad note with Dr.V.M.Sasikumar announcing the untimely
demise of Adv.Jayakumar (husband of Dr.A.R.Supriya’s,CTE Life member) and a
minutes silence was observed by the members present.
·
The
Seminar Co-ordinator Ms.NishaChandran thanked all the members for their
presence and valuable suggestions for the International Seminar.

REPORT OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING

An Organizational Committee Meeting of
the International Seminar was convened at 1.30 pm in the College Library on 28
October 2016 (Friday) presided over by Dr. C. P. Sreekantan Nair. The meeting
was the second initiative to discuss upon metamorphosing the International
Seminar to a successful reality. The meeting started with an invocation to Almighty
by Dr. Resmi.R.Chandran (Asst. Prof.KUCTE,Kumarapuram, Tvpm) which was followed
by the words of welcome by the Principal. The Chairman read out the Agenda for
the day’s meeting and subjected the same for approval by members present.

· As decided in the previous meeting (7 October) Chairman inaugurated the Registration Fee of the Seminar under the Early Bird category by handing over Rs.1200/- to the Principal. Suggestions
were put forward by Dr.V.Reghu to include the following dignitaries as Patrons
in the Letter Head by extending a personal invitation.

support with needed guidelines for
inviting the dignitaries who would not only popularize the meet, but will also

of the Brochure
Minor changes in the Brochure have been mentioned by the
members present.
·
Prof. K Jacob Mathew has offered to
shoulder the responsibility of printing the Brochure (Rs. 10,000/-) for the
Seminar.
·
Dr.B.Krishnaprasad has agreed to print
the Certificates (Rs.3000/-)
·
SPFERD, AIRIO & CCEAM have also
extended their financial support for refreshment on the first and second day.The
decisions were whole heartedly welcomed by all.

Formation
of Organizational Committee for the Seminar
·
Principal read out the names of the Chairman
& Convenors of various Committees.
·
It was decided to conduct the next
meeting at Govt. College of Teacher Education, Tvpm, wherein the Conveners of
all committees are to chart out the various activities to be planned and
implemented at the earliest as a pre phase preparation. Dr. Rajeshwari.K,
Treasurer CTE, (Asst.Prof.,GCTE) was asked to make the arrangements for the
same.

Any
other matter as per the decision of the
Chairman
·
It was suggested that cultural
programmes if included would be a fruitful effort but at no extra cost preferably
an hour’s programme (between 5.30pm –6.30p.m), utilizing the services of the
students.
·
With regard to accommodation, it was
decided that tariff rates of the nearby hotels need to be provided and any
clarifications needed can be extended.
·
Based on general consensus it was
decided that instead of both abstract and compendium, it would be sufficient to
release the Compendium.
·
Secretary, MTCES, Dr. Rajan Varghese,
who graced the occasion with his presence, was warmly welcomed by Dr.C.P.Sreekantan
Nair, who thanked the Management for their support as well as requested
involvement with the same vigour to transform the Seminar to a successful
reality. Secretary too extended all needed support from the part of the Management
wishing all success for the endeavour.
·
The presence of the Principals of the
sister concerns Mr. Sebastian T. Joseph (Principal St. Thomas Central School)
and Mrs. Annamma Cherian (Principal St. Thomas Hr. Sec. School) reflected on their
support to make the Seminar successful.
Striking
at the right chords for still greater enduring results in the ensuing
discussions, the meeting culminated with a word of thanks by the Seminar
Co-ordinator
