  • Food coupons for the three days are enclosed in the file. Please hand over the same to the Canteen before enjoying a sumptuous lunch.
  • Please ensure your presence by signing the attendance list for each day. Duty Certificate will be issued only on the days of presence.
  • Certificate will be issued only on 4 February 2017. If your presence on the same day cannot be ensured, necessary arrangements to be made to collect the same.(Inform Registration Desk)
  • Cash receipt will be issued along with the Certificate.
  • Those who require Compendium, please register at the desk.
  • Please bring Proof / Details of DD /Online Transfer (for Registration) and show them at the time of Registration.

Those delegates who are presenting papers in educ@tse-17 (February 2-4, 2017) are requested to note the following:
1. Three hard copies of the paper are to be submitted at the registration counter (at the time of registration)
2.   Those delegates who are interested to present papers in the competition session (Dr. N. Vedamani Manuel Memorial Award for Best Paper Presenter) are requested to contact the coordinators (Ms. Nisha Chandran (09947651775) or Ms. Vidhya R.R. (09495482740) and register their names on or before January 31, 2017.
3.  Those participating in the Competition session are to submit Four hard copies of the paper at the registration counter.
4.  Participants of the competition session must not reveal their identity in the Paper or in the Presentation (PowerPoint). They can attach a separate sheet of paper to mark their Name and Designation in the hard copy.
5.   All Paper presenters must ensure that their Presentations (ppt/ pptx) are loaded in their corresponding Hall and Session Laptop at the time of registration itself. 
6. Paper Presenters must save their name(s) as the file name of the Presentation (ppt/ pptx)
7.   Those presenting more than 1 paper must register separately for each paper.

Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Memorial Award for Academic Excellence 2016

Dr. V. Reghu, is selected for the prestigious Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Memorial Award for Academic Excellence for the year 2016, organised by CTE -Kerala.

Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Memorial Award for Academic Excellence - 2016 will be presented to Dr. V. Reghu on 2nd February 2017 during the inaugural session of the International Seminar on 'Education at Crossroads: Tilting Social Equations' (educ@tse-17) and XV Annual Convention of Council for Teacher Education organised by St. Thomas Training College, Mukkolakkal, Thiruvananthapuram, from February 2 to 7, 2017

Dr. V. Reghu, has served on various platforms in the fields of Teacher Education, Adult Education and Youth empowerment. These include his service as the head of Department of Non-formal Education, University of Kerala; Professor and Controller of Examinations, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Chennai, an autonomous institution under Government of India. Presently he is active in various NGOs rooted to the cause of Education across the country.

CTE Kerala State Centre has instituted the Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Memorial Award for Academic Excellence to honour the pioneers of Education in the country for their outstanding achievement in the field of Teacher Education as well as in the public domain. This award is instituted in the name of the great educationalist Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai, who was the founder Chairman of CTE in the state and the pioneer of various Academic activities in the country and abroad. This Award, constituted in 2008, after the sad demise of Dr. Pillai, consists of a cash award of Rs.10,001/- and a Citation. The awardee is selected by a committee constituted by CTE Kerala.

Exhibition of Publications By Institutional / Individual Life Members of CTE, Kerala

In order to promote ‘Literary Talents’ among Teacher Educators (Institutional/Individual Life Members of CTE, Kerala), it is proposed to conduct an exhibition of publications  done by teachers who are working in the Department of Education of different Universities, Colleges of Teacher Education,  DIETs and TTIs of Kerala. This will be exhibited for delegates who will be attending the International Seminar organized from February 2nd to 4th, 2017 in connection with 15th Annual Convention of Council for Teacher Education (CTE), Kerala State Centre at St. Thomas Training College, Mukkolakkal Thiruvananthapuram.

Those Institutions/Individuals willing to participate in the exhibition are requested to send the specimen copies of their publications in the under mentioned address on or before February 28th, 2017.

Former Recipients of Dr. N. D. Joshi Memorial Institutional Excellence Awards

The 'Dr. N. D. Joshi Memorial Rolling Trophy' is awarded to Teacher Education Institutions (Institutional Life Members of CTE Kerala) for their involvement and support to the programmes of CTE and in turn strengthen the cause of Teacher Education in the state. This Rolling Trophy is instituted to commemorate the valuable contributions of Dr. N. D. Joshi, Former Faculty Member, Department of Education, University of Kerala and Former Visiting Faculty, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University and a pioneer of tribal education. This Rolling trophy is sponsored by the Doctoral students of Dr. Joshi. The institution is identified on the basis of the criteria developed by the CTE, Kerala State Centre.

Dr. K. Soman Memorial Award for Teacher Educator of the Year

The 'Best Teacher Educator Award' is constituted by the CTE, Kerala State Centre to motivate practicing teacher educators to be a model to students and society from 2004 onwards,  Later it was renamed as 'Award for Teacher Educator of the Year' in the year 2008. Now this Award is known as 'Dr. K. Soman Memorial Award for Teacher Educator of the Year' as a tribute to the great Educationist and pioneer of Teaching of Mathematics. The Award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 2000/- , Memento and Certificate. The amount for this award is sponsored by the family of Dr. K. Soman.

The IV Pre Phase Meeting of the International Seminar convened on 21 December 2016 was presided by Dr.C.P.Sreekantan Nair.  Keeping in tune with the scheduled time the meeting commenced at 2.30 pm with a silent prayer.

The Seminar Coordinator Ms.Nisha Chandran welcomed the gathering followed by the Presentation of the Report of the Meeting held on 26 November 2016 .

Follow up of the Sub Committee meeting & Finalization of the Programme Schedule

The Programme schedule prepared by the College based on the discussions of the Sub-Committees was read out by the Principal for the corrections/clarifications and approved by the members present.
            Day 1 (2 February 2017)
·         It was stressed that all sessions should be planned time bound to ensure smooth conduct, as envisaged.
·         Registration counter to start from 9am onwards and remain open for the purpose.
·         Inaugural Session to commence from 10 am and anticipated to culminate at 11 am. The Session comprise of inaugural address by the guest, distribution of excellence awards and release of compendium.
·         Keynote address to follow – anticipated duration is from 11.10am -11.40am
·         N.P. Pillai Memorial Lecture and commendations will see the end of the Forenoon Session by 1pm.
·         Decided that Lunch Counters at different places in the Canteen would facilitate faster delivery.
·         Afternoon Session to commence from 2pm.
·         As against the usual practice of the Business Session towards the end of the day, 3.30pm to 4pm to be exclusively kept apart for the same to make it  convenient for the CTE members from far off places to attend the meeting.
·         4 pm to 5pm was to be earmarked for Paper Presentation (Non- Competition).It was positively voiced that a session for Paper Presentation on the first day would ensure more attendance by delegates.  If rental charges for technical assistance can be met without financial strain presentations during the first day can be thought about. 
·         5pm – 6pm for Cultural Programmes.
·         Maximum attendance for the Seminar to be mobilised through personal contact was stressed upon.
     Day 2 (3 February 2017)
It was suggested that the second day of the meeting may be advanced to make room for Paper Presentation (Non Competition).  The time schedule for the day was decided as

ü  Minister for Education to be invited for inauguration through acquaintance of Dr. Sreekantan Sir.  If Minister is invited, as per protocol the MLA of the locality need to be invited.  Bishop too need to be assigned suitable role during the inaugural Session.
ü  Chairperson for the various sessions may preferably be selected from among senior faculty from various Universities.  A letter seeking their willingness to be send  sufficiently  early.
ü  Sponsors – Canara Bank, State Bank of Travancore may be contacted for financial assistance.
ü  Early Bird registration dates to be extended for further 10 days from 31st December 2016.
ü  Poster Presentation may be considered for competition depending on the number of entries.
ü  Book Exhibition – Separate corner or spaces may be set apart. Along with CTE members other organizations may also be invited.
        The meeting got over by 4 pm with the words of thanks by the Principal.
